Anyone else would get smacked for that

One of my lovely daughters…we’ll call her R (because I refuse to call her by her name after this encounter) gave me a nice quick boot to the self-image.

If you’d ever seen my keychain, you’d marvel at the fact that I don’t need a bionic arm to life the sucker.  It has about 12 keys on it…4 of which I know what door it opens….two car remotes, and about 6 of those little convenience tags….membership to Blockbuster, Borders Rewards, so forth and so on.

R had to get something out of the van so she took the keys out and when she came back in, she was thumbing through the tags.

“Mommy, is this your gym thing?”

“Yup.”

“Do you go there anymore?”

“I haven’t in a while.”  OK!  My New Years Resolution died a painful death in February.

“I had fun there, the playroom was cool.”  She went ONCE!

“We’ll go back soon.”  So I keep telling myself

“Yeah, I think it’s about time you went to work out.”

OUCH.  Can I just say OUCH!!!

“We’ll go back.”

“When?  Can we go today?”

“No, baby, but we’ll go back soon.”

As she was walking away….”We’re never going back to the gym, are we?”

Funny, I just had the same conversation with my muffintop the other day.

    Anissa,

Thank you for the sweet message on my blog! I appreciate your prayers so much. Your post today about the gym was sooo funny. Let me tell you that my boys have innocently reminded me of my need to work out on many occasions! My all time favorite by my 7 year old, “Look mama! You look just like that lady.” The lady just happened to be about 8 months pregnant :O)

This is very similar to a post I wrote recently about my daughter!

$5000 of dental work and she says, “They look better….still a little yellow…but better!”

    ARGH! 🙂

    Great post!

I just read Peyton’s story and I had tears in my eyes. I can’t even imagine what I would have done in your shoes! I will certainly add you and your family to my prayers as you battle this disease!

Good luck and Peyton is lucky to have a strong mother like you!

The gym thing didn’t work for me either. I’m going with the Wii Fit now. It’s so much more fun.
