Prayers Needed

I’ll be taking Rachael up this evening.

We’re 28 days into this today and STILL in a hospital because there are no beds in a reasonable skilled nursing facility and it’s iffy if she has the stamina to sustain the rigors of a true rehab just yet.  We’ll be re-evaluated soon.

Please pray that Rachael gets the same reaction Nathaniel got.

Also, please pray that we get into the right facility for us.

I hear you Peter! I normally have long chats with God about you all while I’m driving to work in the mornings - I guess that’s covering your night shift. But right now I’m with everyone else just asking Him to bless both Nissa and Rachel tonight during their time together.
I was 9 yrs old when my Dad had quite a serious stroke. I remember it being a frightening time and I wasn’t allowed to see him in the hospital. The older ones did but not me, the youngest! I’m praying all the kids get some quality time with Mom and they’re able to ‘connect’ with her again.
Please tell her I’m sending love and prayers from England.

I know the visit will go just fine. Mom and daughter. It’ll be ok. And I’ll send a nice juicy prayer out too just in case. Right facility? That’s harder work but Anissa will go to the right place that will help her recover. Fully.

Hang in there and do some deep breathing. The stress of this is enough to power the space shuttle.

Peter, your family is in my prayers. You don’t know me but I believe that my dad is currently in the same hospital as your wife and in a very similar condition. We too were getting pressure to transfer him to a less than desirable facility until I put my foot down and told his doctor that none of those were acceptable. To my great surprise, he agreed with me and as of today, my dad will remain in the hospital until he can go home. You have to be her strongest advocate, as I know you are. Feel free to email me if you want to discuss further. Holding you and Anissa and your children up in our prayers.

Just another stranger posting to let you know you’re in my prayers. I went to church this morning to say a prayer for Anissa and your entire family. I’m sure someone has suggested it by this point, but in case not, the book My Stroke of Insight is just fantastic, and something that, at some point, I think might be a good read for you.

You’re a wonderful writer, which I’m sure you’d rather none of us knows if it meant you weren’t in this situation. You have a way with the final line of your post that makes me wish your work were fiction.

    All my blessings,

praying for you all. I know it has to be hard for you and the children, but especially for you. Seeing your beautiful wife this way, and hoping and praying for her to get better. The ups, the downs, and all of the extra things you are responsible for, most of all, the unknown. Praying for Anissa’s recovery, for the right facility, and for your precious little ones to get a great response from their Loving Mom. I know it has to be hard, and I’m praying for her daily, and for your and the children’s strength through it all.

Hope is the thing with feathers
    That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
    And never stops at all.

“wife to a tech ninja” grabbed me hard and made me read back through what’s been happening since November. Never heard of you, already can’t remember how I got here. Twitter, maybe. Something about a bowl of rice and some buttons.

From an old grey-haired “tech samurai,” I hope the best for you and all of yours. I cannot imagine how you manage to keep going.

My step-brother-from-another-mother had a massive stroke in August (I think) and he’s been fighting to come back, too. Arachnoid something-or-other that has an unknown recovery rate (most folks don’t make it to the hospital), and so it’s all sorta guess-work as to what’s going to spring a leak or fall off the merry-go-round next. He’s losing time, and sometimes fights with his nurses, ’cause he doesn’t know where he is. He’s ten days older than I am, and I’m only 38.

As my wife’s family would put it, “I’ll be holding you all in the light.”

Anissa’s prayers did amazing things for my family not quite a year ago - sending prayers and love, and thinking of you all often. Hope Rachael’s visit went well.

    Hugs,
    Steph

Lots of prayers being sent your way.
My stepfather is being transferred to rehab tomorrow after 5 weeks to the day in the hospital. We did lots of research - the best recommendation we got was a hospital affiliated rehab unit with transitional unit. That way he gets more nursing care in the transitional unit until he’s able to withstand the rigors of full inpatient rehab.
With all the prayers headed your way, I know the right bed in the right facility will open up for her.

    Peter,
I want you to know that it is YOU that I’m praying for daily and YOU whom all my prayers are focused on. Everyone is praying for Anissa and that is wonderful and amazing, but I want you to know that even though I’ve never met you and didn’t even hear of Anissa until I read a post of hers like 3 months ago that my prayers are concentrated on you. For God to continue to uphold you and provide you strength to be advocate, husband and father through all of this. I pray for you, Peter, daily and I wanted you to know that.
